I had been doing functional fitness, initially just to improve my health & fitness, but soon the bug bit me & I wanted more! However I didn’t know how to achieve this. I put in the work but I was going nowhere. I was close to giving up when I met Nicky. She could see something that I clearly could not see myself. I started PT classes with her soon after. With Nicky’s help I started achieving my goals. She helped me with what I had struggled with for years. I have gained strength & fitness levels I would never have thought I could accomplish & by teaching me proper weightlifting technique she gave me the confidence I was lacking. I have been training with Nicky van der Merwe since October 2022. Training is hourly coaching sessions, 3 times per week. I had no previous fitness training experience with no preconceived ideas about personal training. My goals were to become physically stronger and more mobile without making huge adjustments to my life. Training with Nicky has changed my perception that training is an obligation and burden.
